@article{article_193955, title={Ein römischer Senator auf Steinbockjagd}, journal={Gephyra}, volume={2}, pages={179–195}, year={2005}, author={Nollé, Johannes}, abstract={
A Roman Senator Hunting Steinbock

The author provides a fresh interpretation of various lines of an epigram discovered by Thomas Corsten in the territory of Cibyra, showing that the stylisation of a hunt by the Roman senator Lucius Marcius Celer Marcus Calpurnius Longos of Attaleia, in which a wild sheep, a paseng and several wild goats were killed and given in sacrifice to the nymphs and to Poseidon, followed various traditions. The real example of Hadrian played a role, as did the Homeric and mythic examples of heros from southern Asia Minor. Within the context of this article the author elaborates both on paseng hunts in Asia Minor and on the history of the founding of Kelenderis, which is connected with a paseng hunt by the Greek hero Bellerophon.
}, publisher={Nalan Eda AKYÜREK ŞAHİN}
