Başkanı Donald Trump'ın ikinci döneminde (2025–2026) Beyaz Saray ve kabine çevresinde üretilen üç sembolik eylemi Roland Barthes'ın göstergebilim modeli aracılığıyla çözümlemektedir. Araştırmanın odağında (i) Oval Ofis'te evanjelik din adamlarının başkanın üzerine ellerini koyarak dua etmesi (6 Mart 2026), (ii) Savunma Bakanı Pete Hegseth'in kolundaki "Deus Vult" dövmesi, göğsündeki Jerusalem Cross ve kolundaki Arapça "kafir" dövmesi, (iii) Dışişleri Bakanı Marco Rubio'nun 5 Mart 2025'te Kül Çarşambası'nda alnında haç işaretiyle Gazze üzerine canlı yayında konuşması yer almaktadır. Barthes'ın düz anlam, yan anlam ve mit kavramları birer analitik katman olarak iç içe uygulanmıştır. Bulgular, bedensel ve görsel göstergelerin siyasal söylemle eklemlendiğinde İslamofobi’yi açık bir nefret söylemi biçiminden çıkararak "meşrulaştırılmış kutsal" mitsel bir çerçeveye yerleştirdiğini göstermektedir. Bu durum, Müslümanı "mutlak öteki" olarak kuran, medeniyetsel karşıtlığı yeniden üreten ve askerî şiddeti tanrısal iradeye atıfla doğallaştıran bir mit inşa etmektedir. N2 - This study analyzes three symbolic acts produced within the White House and the cabinet during the second term (2025–2026) of Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, through Roland Barthes’s semiotic model. The research focuses on (i) evangelical clergymen laying their hands on the president and praying in the Oval Office (March 6, 2026), (ii) Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s “Deus Vult” tattoo on his arm, the Jerusalem Cross on his chest, and the Arabic word “kafir” tattoo on his arm, and (iii) Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s live televised address on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in which he spoke about Gaza while making the sign of the cross on his forehead. Barthes’ concepts of denotation, connotation, and myth are applied as interlocking analytical layers. The findings demonstrate that when bodily and visual signs are articulated with political discourse, they extract Islamophobia from the form of explicit hate speech and situate it within a “legitimized sacred” mythical framework. This constructs a myth that establishes the Muslim as the “absolute other,” reproduces civilizational opposition, and naturalizes military violence by invoking divine will.
