Under the titles “Meaning” and “Stage Aesthetics” are explained the developments Robert Wilson has brought about in the usage of the text and other instruments of stage. In this context, the influence that the director has from various cultures and their impact on his works are one of the main issues of the essay. The part in which “Death, Destruction & Detroit”, a cooperation of Istanbul Foundation of Art and International Theatre Festival is analyzed to show a clear example for intercultural aspects in Wilson's work. The various influences and the role they play in Robert Wilson's theatre as discussed in the last part of the essay.
