TY - JOUR T1 - Anlatan Öğretmenden Dinleyen Öğretmene: Pedagojik Dinleme Becerisi Üzerine Kuramsal Bir İnceleme TT - From the Telling Teacher to the Listening Teacher: A Theoretical Examination of Pedagogical Listening Skill AU - Bütün, Mesut PY - 2026 DA - July Y2 - 2026 JF - Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi JO - CUJOSS PB - Sivas Cumhuriyet University WT - DergiPark SN - 1305-5143 SP - 233 EP - 242 VL - 50 IS - 2 LA - tr AB - Bu kuramsal çalışmanın amacı, matematik eğitiminde öğretmenin dinleme becerisini “pedagojik dinleme” kavramı çerçevesinde ele alarak alandaki kuramsal yaklaşımları incelemek ve bu becerinin boyutlarını tartışmaktır. The conceptual analysis method was used in the research; relevant studies in the international academic literature were evaluated holistically through a three-stage process. As a result of the review, teacher listening was grounded not merely as a communicative behavior, but as a multidimensional teacher competency that shapes instructional decisions with its cognitive, affective, and ethical dimensions. The study first addresses the classifications regarding teacher listening. Then, the pedagogical listening framework, which expands upon these approaches, is discussed; and the relationship of empathic, supportive, self-reflective, educative, and generative listening types with the student's productive struggle, the rights of the learner, and the need to “feel heard” is explained. Consequently, it is emphasized that the teaching approach focused on telling and explaining should be expanded with a pedagogical listening approach that centers on the student's thinking, struggles, and sense-making efforts. In order to support this transformation, it is recommended that teacher education programs and professional development processes address pedagogical listening practices as a more visible and developable area of competency.
