KW - Deri N2 - The wound is the deterioration of anatomical and functional integrity of the living tissue. Wound healing is initiation of regular and sequent cellular and biochemical events after trauma and resulting with formation of new tissues. Collagens play a very important role on successful completion of wound healing. The basic amino acids in the form of collagen, which is the maximum amount of protein in body, are proline and hydroxyproline. In this study, proline amino acid was applied as local and systemic to wounds made on the dorsal of female rats for 30 days and healing was observed. At the end of this period, samples were taken from the dorsal areas and subjected to tensile test. In conclusion, it was mechanically confirmed that proline amino acids had a positive effect on wound healing and systemic application was more successful CR - Baker, D.H., 2009.
