Oriental beechnuts were demonstrated the highest germination percentage in the shortest time at 15 °C after 12 weeks prechilling duration. Germination rate were significantly decreased at 20 °C because of secondary dormancy. Considering the germination rate, the mean germination time, and the germination value, 15 °C appeared to be the most approppriate germination temperature for the prechilled Oriental beechnuts.
