AB  - Tütünün kullanım biçimleri arasında tütün çiğneme, pipo, puro, sigara ve nargile bulunmaktadır. Nargile, daha çok Ortadoğu ülkelerinde yaşlılar tarafından kullanılmaktadır. Son yıllarda tüm dünyada olduğu gibi, ülkemizde de kullanımı artmaktadır. Aromalı formlarının üretilmesiyle özellikle gençler arasında hızla yayılmaktadır. Tütün ve nargile kullanımı, ciddi bir halk sağlığı sorunudur. Nargile kullanımına bağlı gelişebilecek sağlık riskleri bilinmektedir. Kullanım sıklığının azaltılması için, medya dışında, kanun belirleyicilerin, yerel yönetimlerin alacakları önlem ve bilgilendirme önemlidir. Ayrıca, aile hekimliğinin toplum yönelimli hasta bakımı, uygun ve etkili girişimler ile, sağlık ve iyilik durumunun geliştirilmesi ilkeleri çerçevesinde, aile hekiminin özellikle genç nüfusu, aile bireylerini ve yaşadığı toplumu bu konuda yeterli bilgilendirmesi ve tedbirlerin alınmasında öncü olması önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma ile, aile hekimlerinin nargile kullanımı ile ilgili, farkındalığının arttırılmasını amaçlanmıştır.
