N2  - The directional words, that are read as "bir, kur, yır" or "biri, kurı, yırı" in Kokturkish texts, have not existed in post-Kokturkish period texts. Therefore it can not be definitly known whether the roots of these words are "bir, kur, yır" or "biri, kurı, yırı". In this study it is asserted that the roots of these words are "bir, kur, yır" and this assertion is tried to be proven
