Eighty percent of fly ash produced in many countries is utilized in civil engineering applications, mainly cement production whereas only little amounts are used various application in Turkey. Studies for the utilization of fly ash in Turkey are necessary to reduce environmental problems and avoid economical loss caused by the disposal of fly ash. Investigations on utilization usability of fly ash in geotechnical engineering and in several other engineering fields are being carried out in all over the world as well as in our country. Use of fly ash in civil engineering as structural material, and in cement production and enabling its use as soil stabilization material will reduce the fly ash storage, this combined with replacement of natural material by fly ash will reduce the harm given to nature.
