For the content validity of the control list which was formed by reviewing the relevant literature, expert opinions were referenced. For the reliability of the control list, test-retest reliability and the consistency among independent graders were taken into consideration. For test-retest reliability, 36 kindergarten children were tested twice with a gap of 15 days and the correlation between two measurements was taken into consideration. The correlation between two measurements (.90) was found substantially high. To measure the consistency among the independent graders, 7 experts evaluated the writing readiness skills of the 55 kindergarten children using thecontrol list. The measurements of the independent graders were examined separately for each item. When the reliability co-efficient among the graderswere generally analyzed, it was observed that the minimum correlation among experts was 0.32; and the maximum correlation was 1.00. Depending on these findings, it was revealed that the “Control List for the Evaluation of the Writing Readiness Skills of Pre-school Children” has been a useful measurement tool and might be used in order to evaluate the writing readiness skills of the pre-school children.}, number={3}, publisher={Kastamonu University}
