N2  - The use of idioms, proverbs, similes, metaphors indicate the ancientness and the practicability of languages. Especially, the use of similes is an indication of the practicability as well as the ancientness of a language.  In this article, similes in the Old Turkic scripts have been gathered together. The subject simile, which was studied by some Turkologists, was not analyzed linguistically in this study. It may be more helpful to leave that topic to linguists. Gathered use of similes, which were collected by analyzing not only the scripts of the Orkhon area, but also all of the Turkish runic texts, has been presented for the researchers interested in the topic.
