N2  - In this study, we examined physics teachers’ and their students’ opinions about the current physics curricula and physics textbooks in Afyonkarahisar. 70 teachers and 1392 students from Afyonkarahisar and its districts participated in the study. The study consisted of three parts including a pre-survey, a screening conference and a post-survey. Cronbach’s Alpha, the validity of the post-survey was found to be 0.90. Majority of the teachers and the students stated that they were not satisfied with the current physics curricula and textbooks, and they thought that the curricula and the textbooks should be updated. Our study also revealed that physics teachers and their students believed that the amount of time allowed for the physics courses are not enough, and the current physics textbooks could not satisfy students’ expectations about the university entrance exam
