In the standard Big Bang model, our universe is not in nitely old. This model is supported by several strong lines of evidence. This is probably the most remarkable discovery of modern cosmology. Yet still some philosophers, from some metaphysical considerations, argue that time necessarily has not a beginning. I try to indicate that these a priori arguments are also unsuccessful. It seems to show that scientic discoveries and philosophical considerations are combatible with beginning a time. It is highly possible to follows that time can have a beginning if implications of big bang cosmology are true.
