N2  - Inthis research, perception of gender, conflict and violent awareness levels ofthe university students were examined. The study was conducted to a total of1029 students from various departments at Siirt University during the springterm of 2015-2016 academic year. “General Scanning Model”, one of thedescriptive scanning models, was used. Conflict and Violent Awareness Sclaedeveloped by Ohio Education Committee (2002) and adapted to Turkish by Sargın(2010), and Perception of Gender Scale developed by Antınova and Duyan (2013)were used for this study. The Cronbach Alpha for both Conflict and ViolentAwareness Scale and Perception of Gender Scale was as .87. The data analysiswas done with SPSS 21.0 statistical program. p=0.05 was used as significance levelfor statistical analysis. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used tocompare means in this study. At the end of the research, no significancedifference was found in students’ perception of gender and their conflict andviolent awareness levels in terms of age variable while a significancedifference in favour of female students was found both in their perception ofgender and conflict and violent awareness levels in terms of gender. Also,according to faculty and vocational school variable, a significance differencewas determined both in students’ perception of gender and in their conflict andviolent awareness levels.
