TY - JOUR TT - Selectivity of trammel nets (80 and 90 mm mesh size) for common sole (Solea solea linnaeus, 1758) used in Güllük Bay AU - Cerim, Hasan AU - Ateş, Celal PY - 2016 DA - November DO - 10.12714/egejfas.2016.33.4.09 JF - Ege Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences JO - EgeJFAS PB - Ege University WT - DergiPark SN - 2148-3140 SP - 361 EP - 366 VL - 33 IS - 4 KW - Güllük Körfezi KW - küçük ölçekli balıkçılık KW - Dil balığı KW - seçicilik KW - ilk yakalama boyu N2 - This study was aimed to determine that the selectivityparameters of sole trammel nets which are used in Güllük Bay where is one ofthe important fishing grounds in Turkey. Samplings were realized betweenNovember 2013 – December 2015 with trammel nets stretched mesh size with 80 and90 mm. Totally 1209 samples were caught. SELECT method was used to determinethe selectivity parameters. Bi-modal was the best fitted our data. Optimumlengths for 80 and 90 mm trammel nets were found as 23 and 27,02 cm,respectively. Also, for 80 and 90 mm trammel nets, length at first capturevalues (Lc) were estimated as 20,37 and 21,11 cm and CPUE values werecalculated as 2,94 and 1,43 kg/1000m, respectively. As it seen from CPUEvalues, fishing pressure effects large-sized individuals. This situation meansdecreasing in spawning stock biomass and number of small-sized individuals thatprovide continuance of generations, will be less than now when considerednatural and fishery mortalities. In commercial fishery laws, size limitationfor common sole is 20 cm. Length at first capture values are too close tolimitation. So, there is no need for any application toward mesh sizeregulation but on number of trammel net panels, a serious regulation is needed. CR - Akamca, E., Kiyağa, V.B. & Özyurt, C.E. (2010).
