N2  - This study measures the levels of willingness to pay for the improved water quality from households inSoutheastern Anatolia Region (SAP) comprising six cities including Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Batman,Mardin and Adıyaman, while a bid price was introduced to households for improving the current level of potablewater by collecting socio-demographic and economic related characteristics. Bid prices, income, perceptionabout the water quality, education, whether a household residing in a greater municipality (Gaziantep orDiyarbakir) and the use of spring water in household were all found to be statistically significant and had differentimpacts on the willingness-to-pay. An average willingness-to-pay was estimated to be around 6 YTL. Overall,suggestive conclusions were presented to local politicians who are in charge of managing water networks in the region
