N2  - The aim of this study is to put forth the some contributions the method of philosophical thinking, specified in the development of awareness for democracy. Inability by alone or living together in the mess and access to resources to sustain life, is it a need for people? The answer is able to “yes” for this question, when it was looked at the people experiences having been addressed to the governmental organizations and policies in various ways, having been restricted or ignored their wills by these organizations and policies in the historical process. The history of political philosophy showed that the concept of democracy had been put forth to the agenda of the social field to meet this need. For this purpose, it was thought that the method of philosophical thinking, which has also been used by the political philosophy that made important contributions to conceptualization of democracy, can make objective additions. In this direction, (1), ıt was tried to explain the concept of “the need” briefly. (2), it was descripted what the needs that leads the people to think philosophically, became. (3), it was tried to explain the method of philosophical thinking. (4), it was tried to justify what kind of the contributions that the method of philosophical thinking made on the democracy.
