Translation is a scientific study in which the translator tries to replace an oral or written statement in the source language to the target language. Because of social, cultural, linguistic and stylistic differences which are very important factors affecting the translation, there might be loss of meaning. Therefore, the translator may encounter various problems through translation. The Phraseological Units (PUs) featuring local characteristics, for example, national colours, have naturally no exact equivalence in the target language. Therefore, the use of PU equivalents in target language is more common in their translation, and explanatory translation is used with descriptive and combined translation. Findings show that there are a number of factors which have to be considered in translating metaphorical phraseological units in the correct way. Depending on the findings, some presented suggestions are proposed to solve the problems arising in translating PUs. CR - Aksoy, B. (2000). Kültür Odaklı Çeviri ve Çevirmen, Türk Dili.
