TY - JOUR TT - OPTIMALITY ISSUES IN A SERIES SYSTEM FROM MANUFACTURER’S PERSPECTIVE CONSIDERING BURN-IN AND WARRANTY PERIODS AU - Ehsan, Moghimi Hadji PY - 2013 DA - June JF - International Journal of Electronics Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering JO - IJEMME PB - Istanbul Aydin University WT - DergiPark SN - 2146-0604 SP - 415 EP - 418 VL - 3 IS - 1 KW - Series System KW - deteriorating system KW - renewing warranty KW - burn-in KW - optimization N2 - Reliability engineers generally have to deal with systems that consist of some components in series and others inparallel. Reliability of a series system can be calculated by multiplying the reliability of individual elements in that system.Failure rate of many deteriorating systems shows a bathtub shape curve. The aim of this paper is to find the average totalcost of a series system, from a manufacturer’s point of view, during the first two phases of its life; considering optimalityissues for burn-in and warranty periods.
