A field survey using questionnaire method was conducted on small, medium and large sized manufacturing firms operating in the region excluding the micro firms out of the scope. According to survey results, more than half of the firms have an average level of competitiveness. While majority of them make innovation, nearly half of them prefer to cooperate with non-profit organizations. Finally, there exists a significant difference in competitiveness of the firms in terms of innovation and cooperation.
