N2  - In this article, the spread of Buddhism amongst the Turkish populace at large in Turkish Central Asia and the effects of Buddhism on Turkish language and culture are exposed from the assorted aspects in the historical perspective. Additionally, the characteristics of Turkish Buddhist literature and its development are specified in detail, and the place of Buddhism in Pre-Islamic Turkish literature is elucidated.
