In this study his thoughts about translation are given. He points out that in our literature there is no tradition of translation. Thus, every person has his own way. For him it is not enough to know the target language but also mother tongue must be known and used effectively. The person must keep the meaning of the original text, at the same time the style and artistic unity of it. Yaşar Nabi underlines the fact that it is a difficult issue to translate poems. Because it is not easy to give the atmosphere and rhythm of the poems in the target language. For him this kind of translations should be done by poets such as Sabri Esat Siyavuşgil who is successful in this field. Yaşar Nabi emphasized the responsibility of the goverments fort he translation. He supported the establishment of Translation Office which deals with especially translation of classics.
