N2  - Stewart is one of the British consuls sent to Anatolia after the war between Ottoman and Russia in 1877-78. His consular area was the province of Konya. After staying here for some time he prepared a general report about the state of Konya province in 1879. Before deatiling the information about Konya the mode of collection of data and information for their reports by the British consuls in Anatolia have been analized Then, it follows the information in the report. They are religious distribution of the population, resources, products, export and import materials, system of land tenure, character of food and clothing, taxation, administration of justice, revenues, police forces and public safety, education, health and refugees. İt has also listed in the report the names of the posts in the province, sancaks and kazas together with the population af all administrative units down to the nahiyes.
