N2  - In this work, the preface written in rhyme and metric of the translation of Ahmed Dai's interpretation and its linguistic properties were studied. Tefsir-i Ebu'l-Leysi’s-Semerkandi by Ahmed Dai, considered as the first translation of the Koran interpretation into Turkish in Anatolia, has the quality of a work in itself. The preface has the linguistic properties of Old Anatolian Turkish and carries the particular characteristics of that period. It contains archaic words
