The Caliph Mu’tasım gave a special importance to the Turks. He built a great army made up of Turks. He bought Turks at slave bazaar.Great military leaders came out from the Turks. Afşin, Boğa el-Kebir, Boğa es-Sağır are some of them. In this period the Turks came to important positions within the state so in the later periods by means of these high positions they could change the Caliphs in which way they want. Due to this fact from now on it isn’t possible to mention that the Turks are slaves.
