N2  - Besides the fact that the Turks were taken to the Abbasids army as “slaves”, they undergone a special training and in this way were taken to the army in the early Abbasid Caliphs’ period and especially during the reign of Caliph Mu’tasım. The Caliph Mu’tasım gave a special importance to the Turks. He built a great army made up of Turks. He bought Turks at slave bazaar.Great military leaders came out from the Turks. Afşin, Boğa el-Kebir, Boğa es-Sağır are some of them. In this period the Turks came to important positions within the state so in the later periods by means of these high positions they could change the Caliphs in which way they want. Due to this fact from now on it isn’t possible to mention that the Turks are slaves.
