N2  - Local media isan important communication tool in the creation of regional public and theintroducing of the region. It fulfills many functions such as informing thelocal population, transmitting of local problems by creating a bridge betweencitizens and local governments, raising awareness by giving the news bydetails, and thus becoming the current issue in the national press. The localmedia which played a substantial role in transporting to media of subculturesand in representation of minorities, is on extremely effective position inrepresantation and transfer to the next generations of local culture. Culturaland arts news in local media is important for the development and promotion ofthe region. Local media contributes to the enrichment and representation oflocal culture with informations about “living place” as well as brandingexercises conducted by municipalities, district governorships andgovernorships. This study aimsto put the role of local media in cultural represantation and to determine howoften and what rate local newspapers published in Erzincan give place tocoltural and art news. In this sense, daily local newspapers publishing inErzincan city are evaluated by content analysis method. Proposals are plannedto be introduced with regard to evaluations. You need toinsert an English abstract into this section by taking into account exactly thesame format.
