This system consists of the following main parts; pool open channel for growing microalgae, pre-concentration section, high-rate anaerobic reactor for producing biogas and cogeneration section that biogas is converted into electricity and heat energy. An economic model to investigate the viability of such a system has been given. The present worth of the net profit, the annual equivalent, rate of return, pay-back time are considered as an economic evaluation criteria. In addition, a sensitivity analysis has been performed in order to show the effects of technical and economic parameters on the system economy.
