Especially studies about drug-use in Southeastern Anatolia Regionare quite insufficient. With the intent of remarking the increasing risk inSoutheastern Anatolia Region, in this study substance-use in Adıyaman city isresearched.Methods: In this study,urine tests which were required to determination of illegal substance-use for932 case in county hospitals which are bound to Adıyaman Province PublicHospital Association between 2013 and 2016 years were analyzed retrospectively.Results:In the study, according to cases rate of male genderis determined as 97.2% (n=906). From all of the cases, 72% (n=673) weredetermined as drug-user, 59% were as user of one drug and 13% as user of morethan one drug were determined. Within all cases, with the rate of 68.7% (n=640)marijuana was estimated as top and with the rate of 11.9% (n=111) morphine wasestimated in the second rank. In thestudy it raises concern that usage of drug is very common between 18-24 ages.Conclusion:Being common of drug use especially in young maleswho were directly or indirectly in the cases and were brought to emergencyservices in Adıyaman indicates a big danger over the long run in terms ofpublic health and security.
