N2  - Regarded as one of the three greatestsaints of the Christianity, Gregory of Nazianzus who grew up in Cappadocia isin the meantime considered one of the founders of the Ortodox Church. Hisinfluence can be seen in the formation of the views on the doctrines of trinityand Jesus Christ in Christian theology. According to him, the victory and thesuperiority of the Church would be at the best possible through a adaptation ofthe traditions of the classical culture. From his point of view as regards thequestion of God, the religious experience is what should be focused on due to the fact that the contentof a reality may differ from what is perceived. In this article, following a briefintroduction to his life, the opinions he put forward in the development periodof Christian theology, the position he occupied in the clergy as well as hismission and struggle will be dealt with.
