Pressure ulcers are common among patients receiving home care services. </span> </p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;line-height:150%;"> <span style="font-size:16px;font-family:’Times New Roman’, serif;text-indent:35.4pt;"> <br /> </span> <span style="font-size:16px;font-family:’Times New Roman’, serif;text-indent:35.4pt;">Materials and Method: In this study, the medical files of 311 patients registered and managed by the home care services unit of Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital between 01/12/2010 and 30/09/2012 were reviewed. Seventy one patients with pressure ulcers were included in the study </span> </p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;line-height:150%;"> <font face="Times New Roman, serif"> <span style="font-size:16px;">Findings: A total of 71 patients, of which 26 being male (36.60%) and 45 being female (63.40%), were included in the study. The median age of the patients with pressure ulcers was 80 (IQR:13). Pressure ulcer locations were sacral in 42 (59.20%), trochanteric in 10 (14.10%), heels in 3 (9.90%), thoracic vertabral and scapular in 3 (4.20%) and arms and other areas in 2 (2.80%) patients. Mean serum albümin was 3.20 ± 0.51 g/dL. Hypoalbuminemia was observed in 4 patients feeded via PEG, in 7 patients receiving oral enteral support and in 1 patient feeded via nasogastric tube. </span> </font> </p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;line-height:150%;"> <font face="Times New Roman, serif"> <span style="font-size:16px;"> <br /> </span> </font> <span style="font-size:16px;font-family:’Times New Roman’, serif;text-indent:35.4pt;">Conclusison: Assessment of the risk factors should be a part of the first visit of every single patient registered for home care services.
