Besides sociodemographic characteristics of the children and adolescents referred to Sakarya University Child and Adolescent Psychiatry clinic for health measures have been also examined retrospectively. </div> <div>Results: Fifteen percent of the children fif not meet any diagnostic criteria, while 15% of the children were diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder, 17% of them were shown to be mental retardation 26.3% of them were attention deficit hyperactivity disorder+conduct disorder and 45% of them had other diagnoses. 78% of the children received medical treatment. 50% of the children and adolescents were from rural areas. 28% of the children were reported to quit the school. </div> <div>Conclusion: The study has shown that a large proportion of the examined children were diagnosed with at least one psychiatric disorder. Further studies are needed in order to determine the risks and the protective factors that affect the admitted children to the child protection system psychologically. </div> </div> </div> <div> <br /> </div>}, number={3}, publisher={Cukurova University}
