N2  - The purpose of this study is to determine the participation status of physical educationteachers working in state and private primary schools in Ankara in terms of their attitude to thedecisions made by the school administration, their desire to attend the decision making process,their interest in the decision subjects and their knowledge of the topics about which the decisionsare made.In study, 183 teachers working in the state (148) and private schools (35) participated.A Decision Involvement Questionnaire was administered to the teachers (Açıkgöz, 1984). Thedata was explained by frequency and percent calculations. T tests and one-way analysis ofvariance were used during the data analysis. The level of significance was set at p<0.05.The results of this study, teachers who work in state and private primary schools ,were ‘much in agreement’ with the decisions made by school administration. In the study, theparticipation in decision topics, interest, desire of attendance and qualifications were comparedbetween state and private school physical education teachers and statistically no significantdifferences were found (p>0.05). In the study, also the individual characteristics (age, sex,seniority), their participation level to the decision topics, desire of attendance, interest towardsthe decisions and qualifications of the teachers working in the state and private schools werecompared and no significant differences were found (p>0.05).
