N2  - Thepurpose of this study was to investigate psychological skills (imagery, peakingunder pressure, commitment, coping with stress and competitive anxiety) ofprofessional soccer players according to their age groups (16-20, 21-25 and26-37). Population of this study consisted of 18 professional soccer teams and451 professional soccer players of "South Anatolia Region" which iscategorized 7th. one by the Turkish Soccer Federation. All professional soccerteams and total 313 professional soccer players were used in this study. SoccerPsychological Skills Scale-16 (SPSS-16) with a questionnaire was applied to 311professional soccer players and related data gathered. Reliability coefficientsof the SPSS-16 are 0.66 for the imagery, 0.73 for the performing underpressure, 0.62 for the commitment, 0.68 for the coping with stress and 0.63 forthe competitive anxiety. The results of theOne-WayANOVA and Scheffe Test showed meaningful differences between coping withstress, commitment and age groups (coping with stress-F:3.27 and P<..04,commitment-F:5.33 and P<.005). No meaningful differences were found betweenimagery, peaking under pressure, competitive anxiety and age groups (P>.05).
