purpose of this study was to assess the somatotype characteristics of elite
American Football Players. The Heath/Carter anthropometric somatotype method
was applied to 28 basis players (15 backs and 13 linemens) aged 20.96±1.35 yrs
of age. Most of somatotypes were dominant mesomorphs (X= 7.39) for the players.
A higher mesomorphic component was a more important factor determining body
