League through 2002-2003. The universe of this study was168 female volleyball players played through 2002 -2003 Turkish 1. league. Samplegroup consisted of 56 players who were selected randomly from Turkish 1. leaguethrough 2002-2003. Data collection was done by using a questionnaire whichincluded 37 questions with demographic information and menstrual circumstances.Data, taken from questionnaire, evaluated by two or more variables’ frequency distribution.For relations between sports starting age and menstrual cycle, trainingfrequency and menstrual problems coming from sports, Qi square test wasapplied. To evaluate and calculate the data SPSS 10.0 statistic program wasused. As a result of this study, players’ physical characteristics as age, bodyweight and height are as follows; 22.66±4,96 years, 68,07±6,32 kg, 181,85±5,56cm respectively. Any significant relation was not found between trainingfrequency (day/weeks), (hours/week) and menstrual circumstance (χ2= 0,054,p>.05, χ2=3,73, p>.05) respectively. There was no significant relationbetween players’ sports starting age and menstrual circumstance (χ2=4,33, p>.05).It was found that players who mentioned that the effects of menstruation onphysical sports activity were 32, 1%, psychological effects were 44,7% and noeffect was 23,2%. Ratio of amenore and oligomenore of players were found as30,8%. We may conclude that; the effects of volleyball on menstrual cycle isinsignificant for volleyball players and it effects sportive activity bypsychological way. CR - 1.
