However, there is a lack of evidenceregarding the marginal and internal adaptations of new CAD/CAM materials. The objective of this studywas to evaluate the marginal and internal adaptations of posteriorall-ceramic restorations fabricated from contemporary restorative materials withchair-side CAD/CAM system.Materials and Method: An artificial mandibular left first molar tooth was prepared accordingto standard tooth preparation procedures, and standard models of the preparedteeth were obtained. All-ceramic restorations (n=10) werefabricated from seven different CAD/CAM blocks (IPS e.max CAD, Lava Ultimate,Incoris TZI, Incoris ZI, Vita Suprinity, Vita Enamic, and GC Cerasmart). Themarginal and internal adaptations were measured with silicone replicas, whichwere sectioned with a thin lancet. The discrepancy between the die and theinner surface of the restoration was examined at 50× magnification by using alight microscope with digital camera. Four reference points were examined ateach buccal-lingual section and eight referencepoints were examined at each mesial-distal section. The results were evaluatedby two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey HSD test (α=0.05).Results: The values obtained frommarginal-internal areas were generally greater than those in the marginalareas. Significant differences were found between the materials. Thestatistical analysis revealed that there was an interaction between thematerial type and the location of the reference points (p<0.05); the lowestvalues were observed in axial areas, and the highest values were observed inocclusal areas. Conclusion: All materials showed low marginal and internal discrepancies which wereconsidered clinically acceptable.
