Since accredited organizations areobliged to act in line with acknowledged standards, laboratories have to complywith current standards for tests and analyses. Activities undertaken in linewith the standards enhance competitiveness in both domestic and internationalterms since they have to comply with conditions set out by such standards. Theyalso lower costs and increase profitability. While businesses adopt TS ENISO/IEC 9001, laboratories, on the other hand, opt for TS EN ISO/IEC 17025, anindicator of authorization to perform tests. This standard is divided into twomain sections. First is the management conditions while second is technicalfeatures including physical conditions of laboratories and feasibility ofmethods TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard has been drawn up for laboratories toimprove their management systems in quality, administrative and technicalprocedures. This standard safeguards the reliability of tests performed byforensic laboratories with such a standard, and the impartiality of expertiseservices and conformity with standards. This study offers an insight intorequirements for TS EN ISO/IEC 17025, and advantages accorded to forensiclaboratories that adopt this standard.  CR - Dilek SALKIM IŞLEK, Salih CENGIZ, Fatma ÇAVUŞ, Gülten RAYIMOĞLU, Emel Hülya YÜKSELOĞLU UR - https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/turjoem/issue//306621 L1 - https://dergipark.org.tr/en/download/article-file/294524 ER -
