The qualitative research approach was used in the study. The study group of the research consisted of 150 teacher candidates from pedagogical formation certificate program in the summer term of 2013–2014 educational year at Duzce University. The interview form consisting of 5 open–ended questions was used as the data collection tool. The interview forms were analyzed with the content analysis. At the end of the research, it was found out that the students generally had positive perceptions about their primary school teachers; that the students whose numeric skills were supported in the primary school period tended towards the numeric fields in choosing a job in the future and those whose verbal skills were supported tended towards the verbal fields; that the primary school teachers had negative effects on the success of the students in the talent field.
