Clinical examination showed a unilateral Bartholin gland cyst on the left side of the vagina. The cyst was punctured, drained, and the cyst and gland was extirpated. Postoperatively, antibiotic and wound therapy was applied. Blood and cyst fluid were taken at same day and some biochemical parameters of blood serum and cyst fluid were investigated. Albumin, direct bilirubin, total bilirubin, calcium, creatin kinase (CK), iron, gamma glutamyltransferase (GGT), glucose, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), potassium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus and total protein levels were measured in blood serum samples. Blood serum calcium, phosphorus levels and AST enzym activity found lower than normal levels whereas serum creatine kinase (CK) and GGT enzyme activities found higher. Albumin, cholesterol, glucose, sodium levels and alkaline phosphatase (ALP), AST activities in the cyst fluid were determined. According to biochemical analysis albumin level in cyst fluid was found lower compare to blood serum level. It is concluded that the results obtained will contribute information to the literature about this issue.}, number={2}, publisher={Harran University}
