implants can be applied succesfully when natural teeth are lost. Hovewer,
excessive loss of bone can require advanced surgical treatments before dental
implants placement. Recently, use of short dental implants are evaluated to
avoid disadvantages of advanced surgical operations. Clinical success of short
implants is being explored, providing an effective and practical application.
In researches, surface properties of implants, bone </span> <span style="font-family:’Times New Roman’, serif;"> </span> <span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:150%;font-family:’Times New Roman’, serif;">characteristics,
marginal bone loss, crown/ implant ratio, design of implant restorations and
the health of periodontal structures are the main factors to be evaluated. In
this review, considering clinical studies, the concept of short implants will
be presented in relation to the success of the short implants in the factors
