Bu yenilikçi uygulamalararasında yer alan ve Kübalı çocukların yaklaşık %70’inin faydalandığı KendiÇocuğunu Eğit programı (Educate Your Childprogramme) ise ulaştığı kitle ve elde ettiği başarı nedeni ile Küba eğitimsisteminin önemli yapı taşı niteliğindedir. Programın çıkış noktası,geliştirilme ve uygulanma süreci başta olmak üzere sağlık ve eğitimsektörlerini bütünleştiren bir yanının olması, toplumun her kesiminin programınbir parçası olması ve yapılan araştırmalara bağlı olarak sürekli güncellenmesigibi nedenlerden dolayı bu çalışmada, Kendi Çocuğunu Eğit programınınderinlemesine incelenip, gelişmekte olan ülkeler çerçevesindeuygulanabilirliğinin tartışılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ilgilialanyazın ve UNICEF ve UNESCO gibi uluslararası kuruluşların raporları incelenerekönemli noktalar vurgulanmıştır.
