AB  - This qualitative study was undertaken as part of theISLDN global study of social justice leaders, focused on the leadership storiesof the respondent. This study is framedin authentic leadership and examined the leader’s self-awareness, authenticbehaviors, and relationships, which both communicated and solidified theauthenticity of the leader. Data werecollected, then analyzed through the lens of the leader’s story which formedher way of leading. Findings showed that leaders who possess self-understandinggrounded in core values, make decisions and behave in ways that demonstratetheir self-understandings, and form relationships with followers that buildtrust through their authenticity promote positive cultures in theirorganizations and lead with greater conviction.
