N2  - This article examines contemporary recognition debate. ‘Recognitiondebate’ is a term which refers to a political-philosophical exchange’ basicallytook place between Axel Honneth and Nancy Fraser. The main idea of the debateis to examine if concepts of Hegelian phenomenology such as ‘struggle forrecognition’ is appropriate for understanding contemporary identity politicsand is possible to reconcile categories of recognition and redistribution. Theaim of the article, drawing on the debate between these theorists, is to providea new thinking for identity politics and struggle for recognition.
