N2  - Neighboring two countries Syria and Turkey,besides having common history, they also have similarities in terms ofconfronting often military interventions to their regimes. Syria hasexperienced coups almost in every one and half year from1946, in which Syria gained independence, until Hafezal-Assadseized power in acoupin 1970. Because of all these coupattempts the country had never a chance being ruled according to the Democraticor Republican fundemantals. However, in Turkey, the Republic was offically establishedin 1923, but the country was ruled by a single party until 1946. As Syria was newlygaining its independences in 1946, Turkey became a multiparty Democratic system. Unfortunately after 1960 Turkey also started toconfront military coups almost in every ten years. Being overwhelmed because ofcoups and dictatorial governments, an uprising by the Syrian people with Democraticdemands from the government in 2011, turned into an armed resistance and thus becamea Proxy war country. On the other hand, in Turkey during the night in, July 15,2016, people came to the street, stood next to the elected government and witha point shot, repelled the military coup attempt, tried by a certain group inthe military, which wanted to seize power through a coup. Comparative studies providea beter understanding of events.So in this article, in order to beter understandthe Syrian upprising, we make a comperative analysis with the July 15 democracyuprising in Turkey, in the context of political history of both countries by usingthe tool of the consept of Assabiyya from Ibn Khaldun.
