N2  - The main purpose of this study is to investigate the liquidity, financial structure, productivity and profitability performance of Turkey's energy sector and the European energy sector by using ratio analysis. The data related to Turkey's energy sector, as published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey 2009 - 2012 period were obtained from sector balance sheets and income statements. The data for the European energy sector were obtained from the balance sheet and income statement of the achievement of reliable data from the 79 energy firms operating in Europe. In conclusion, it has been identified, in terms of liquidity, financial structure, productivity and profitability of the European energy sector firms are performing better than Turkey energy sector firms have.
