Mehmet Çınarlı, who was a civil servant by profession, spent his life with the effort good deed in his art and his environment. He was a patriotic man of pen avoiding expedience. He had a steady wold-view and composed many literary works both in poetry and prose. Hisar, which was owned by him, was a republican literary review, which hosted many important names and gave name to a period. Çınarlı got the opportunity to serve his nation in various institutions apart from his tenancy. He was retired in 1990. His loyalty to art started at very early ages and continued until his death. His five books of poems with the themes of yearning, love, society and children is written with an unsophisticated, lyrical and comprehensible language, far from excessive symbolization. He attached importance to music and did not give up on aruz meter. He has many works in prose as well and he gave place to his memoirs, to his conversations with other artists, to information that could be resource to literary history, to thoughts and apprehensions on art and to social problems. It is possible to say that Mehmet Çınarlı, who produced works in many genres, had adopted the conception of socialist poetry both in poetry and prose.
