For total production ofelectricity, with lignite ones are more important than other power plants. Oneof the biggest defect cutting off production of electricity is boiler tubesfailures. In this study, reasons of the tubes failures which cause energyinterruption had been researched. Furthermore, for Seyitömer Power Plant, costof this issue had been calculated. Boiler tubes failures which cause bigproduction lost and negative effect of central life are happened due tocorrosion occurred by oxygen, hydrogen damage, acid aggression, tension crack,interior pollution, over heating with short and long time period, and mechanicerosion. This problems make double cost a current issue. Both changing tubescosts and lost energy costs problems are seen on the changing time. The mainreasons of tubes failures at Seyitömer Power Plant are corrosion occurred byash, high heat, welding mistakes, and interior pollution. The biggest reason ofthe corrosion occurred by ash is that coal used at this central has high ashratio.
