Harmonic and Randomvibration specifications which have different durations and Acceleration PowerSpectrum Densities (PSD G) are plotted and compared according to damageaccumulated on one degree of freedom (SDOF) system. Outcome of this study isthe evaluation of fatigue strength of common or similar parts used on lightingsystems which are dedicated to different customers, different car segments; andevaluation of the severity of new customer vibration durability test specificationsand evaluation of special design precautions for new design projects. Shorterduration PSD G’s and Harmonic tests which have equivalent Fatigue DamageSpectrums (FDS) can be created and instant design modifications can be testedand evaluated. In addition, in this study, random test time reduction formulawas validated with physical tests.
