N2  - Grounded theory which is one of the qualitative research methods provides the researcher to develop the theory. In many traditional qualitative research forms, researchers choose a deductive way for themselves. In this process of the research, data obtained in consideration of theory and exploration is used as a product of theory accumulation. On the other hand, in grounded theory, an inductive process which is in contrast with the traditional method dominates. A researcher who uses grounded theory method looks at the work of composing theory of the data with an open-minded way. Facts obtained by this way have the great proportion of the ability of representing the natural phenomenon. Moreover, the developed theory does not have to be evaluated in the frame of inflexible idea as which is in the literature. In this study, the purpose is analyzing the studies which are about grounded theory and researching the utility of it in sports science. Grounded theory takes place in literature as one of the theories which have utility and practicality in qualitative researches. However, in sports sciencefield it was seen that grounded theory research was taken quite limited. In order to develop the Turkish literature in this field, it should be provided to increase the researchers’ interests intended to grounded theory and encourage them to work for this field
