N2 - Nasrettin Hodja is one of the most important personalities of Turkish culture. With his life style, ideas, individual and society view, understanding of humor exceeded beyond the boundaries of Turkish culture and he is person that can progress in Turkish heritage. Many stories, jokes and typecasting of Nasrettin Hodja are known in firstly Anatolia, Central Asia, and the Balkans. When Nasrettin Hodja compared with Santa Clause, which they are grown up same place but in different time periods, is facing a lack of interest that is not deserved. Where, how, and why the mistake has been made should be investigated in publicity and introducing typecasting to the children of Nasrettin Hodja that is one of these two Anatolian legends. For this important reason, in this paper is investigated that how the Nasrettin Hodja image formed in the eyes of children considering of introduction style of Nasrettin Hodja to the children. And also, it is tried to find solution of this problem comparing with image of Santa Clause in the eyes of the children. Why the children became the less interested with Nasrettin Hodja although he is more sympathetic, more compassionate, wittier and having more realistic view of the world. With this study, typecasting of Nasrettin Hodja is investigated and researched problems of more than one Nasrettin Hodja typecasting created by every cartoonist, every author, and every researchers. In this study, questionnaires were applied on elementary, high school and university students, how they met with Nasrettin Hodja, how they were influenced, what they learned and how they could remember Nasrettin Hoca. Nasrettin Hodja put forward the reasons that reduce the popularity of children and young people of all ages, evaluations have been done and the result has been reached.
